Q1. With LogiTerm, can I use terminology records created with other software packages?
For LogiTerm to be able to use them, your records must be in one or more text documents, for example in “text only” or Word documents. If your records are currently in a database (Access, FileMaker, etc.), you will have to export them to a “text only” file.
You can then convert them to the format shown below, either using the features of your word processing software or by using the conversion tool built into LogiTerm.
[ENG] English term [FRA] French term [...] Other language [DOM] Domain(s) [SOU] Source … [~]
However, even without any special preparation, any terminology document in text format can be included in a terminology database, and you can then use LogiTerm to search through it.

Q5. May I buy LogiTerm’s alignment tool separately?

Q6. I already have a translation memory manager. Of what use will LogiTerm be to me?
LogiTerm allows you to query vast amounts of information from a variety of sources. This makes it an all-purpose tool that you will use every day. In comparison, a translation memory manager (TMM) can typically be used only under certain circumstances. Even when you are using your TMM, you will appreciate LogiTerm’s search capacities. To some degree these two types of tools complement each other, especially since LogiTerm includes conversion utilities that can read and produce files in translation memory format.
In addition, our alignment tools are the most powerful on the market. For more information, see sections on AlignFactory, AlignFactoryLight and AlignRobot.
